It's been 3 years in Germany, I wake up every morning on my comfortable bed in my temperature controlled room. I am sure, almost everyday, that when i will enter in the shower and turn on the tap of hot water, i will get water and that water will be hot. Unlike India, where at the last moment you get reminded, "oh, i forgot to turn on the geyser or there is no water supply today!"
After shower, when i enter the kitchen for breakfast, i know for sure that hot plates will turn on and there will not be any electricity cuts.
I know for sure that the bus which is supposed to come at 8:15 AM, no matter how bad the weather is, will come at 8:15 AM and i will reach my lab at 8:25 AM and can start working at 8:30 AM. No traffic congestions, less pollution, no overcrowding in buses.
This is applicable in every aspect of daily life, everything very well planned, on time and predictable.
Now, let's see this scenario once again from a different perspective.
When i wake up, i don't have anyone around me to whom i can wish to have a good morning. I don't find my mother who used to bring a cup of tea and wake me up with her motherly affection. When i go out on the streets, i say hello to the city and city says hello to me and then we move on. After so many years, still we could not become friends. Like, 2 strangers, who live together but never talk. When Germany beats France in Football, i feel good, but when India beats England in cricket, that's unmatched happiness.
Perhaps we have all the comforts but where is the compassion? I am living with people who are friendly but where are the friends? I own a lot of things but what about being owned by someone?
This city gives you everything but makes you lonely, as if you have everything but no one to share with. On the other hand, back at home, you might not have everything but still you get everything because you have people who are willing to share what they have and you don't have.

Working Class Hero - John Lennon
As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and class less and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool

Yes Madam, Sir. Salute!
"I used to write my fate everyday!"
"When you meet an obstacle, you have two options, first, just stop there, stuck and lost... and second, get around with it, try to find the cause, remove the cause, the obstacle will go away on it's own!"

When I Asked God for Strength
When I asked God for strength
He gave me difficult situation to face.
When I asked God for Brain & Brawn
He gave me puzzle in life to solve.
When I asked God for Happiness
He showed me some unhappy people.
When I asked God for Wealth
He showed me how to work hard.
When I asked God for Favors
He showed me opportunities to work hard.
When I asked God for Peace
He showed me how to help others.
God gave me nothing I wanted
He gave me everything I needed.

The Prayer of an Unknown Confederate Soldier
I asked God for strength that I might achieve.
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy.

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.
